Welcome to "Akording to Kim" ! |

Hi! I'm Kim. A life long learner and teacher. I teach Computer Literacy, Spanish and ELA in a small rural school in Western New York. I'm passionate about using my learning to help other teachers grow their practice too.
A few years ago I received my post-graduate degree in Educational Leadership through SUNY Brockport, was trained through the Teaching is the Core grant program, and certified by New York State Teachers' Resource Centers to lead workshops for educators. During the 2016-2017 school year I helped support teachers and teacher leaders in Tulsa Public Schools as a LearnZillion Professional Learning Facilitator Since then, I've done a lot of different trainings - live at schools and regional and national conferences and through webinars. I even taught a six-week, blended-learning course for New York Partners for Technology Innovation (NYPTI) on the Edmodo platform.
The national conferences I've presented at include NYSCATE, ISTE, FETC and BLC. If you click on the tabs above you can check out the presentation slide decks. I'm excited to be working on a digital equity and inclusion project for the Center for Self-Advocacy in Buffalo. This FREE program is called "Let's Connect" and it launched this summer. We are grant-funded to work with adults with developmental disabilities, their families, and anyone in the Broadway Market neighborhood of Buffalo, NY. We are also looking for volunteers to work 1 on 1 with participants as "Digital Guides" using the materials we created and curated. Reach out to me on Twitter or send me an email if you'd be interested in doing some volunteering with us! |

I will be at NYSCATE 2022 teaching three Nearpod workshops, and I am planning more virtual workshops for the Teachers' Centers this year. Follow me on Twitter or join my email list below to get notified when the schedule for this year is live.
